Video Transmission Gateway: Deliver 10× More 1080P HD Streams Over Narrowband

2025-06-21

In remote environments such as oilfields and mines, high-definition video surveillance is essential for ensuring on-site safety and operational efficiency. During routine inspections or incident reviews, upper-level departments and corporate headquarters often require real-time access to video feeds in order to monitor field operations effectively.

However, satellite transmission bandwidth in these remote areas is often severely limited. A typical 2 Mbps satellite link can support only a single 1080P video Stream—far from sufficient to meet the demands of multi-channel monitoring.

To address the challenge of delivering high-definition video over limited bandwidth, Xingtuxinke has developed the Video Transmission Gateway—a solution that enables the transmission of up to 10 concurrent 1080P HD video streams over narrowband connections.

The Video Transmission Gateway is a high-performance device designed for front-end surveillance applications. By integrating advanced video compression and intelligent network adaptation technologies, it delivers 4–10× HD video compression while maintaining consistent visual quality, including resolution, frame rate, feature details, duration, and compliance with standard encoding formats.

Industry Use Cases

In remote oilfield operation zones, a 2 Mbps satellite link has traditionally supported only a single 1080P video stream. With the deployment of the Xingtuxinke Video Transmission Gateway, 1080P footage originally encoded at 2 Mbps can now be compressed by a factor of 10—to just 200 Kbps—enabling the transmission of 10 concurrent 1080P streams over the same bandwidth. This allows for comprehensive, panoramic monitoring across all operational areas.

Even under extreme weather or unstable network conditions, Xingtuxinke’s adaptive network technology ensures smooth audio and video transmission back to the command center—even with up to 30% packet loss—providing robust support for remote safety management and real-time situational awareness.

In subway video transmission scenarios, a single 1080P video stream typically requires 2–4 Mbps of bandwidth. However, in one city’s subway system, the available bandwidth was insufficient to support the real-time transmission of multiple video streams from trains to the control center during operations.

By deploying the Xingtuxinke Video Transmission Gateway, this issue was resolved without any changes to the existing network infrastructure. The gateway compresses real-time HD video data by up to 10×—while maintaining high visual fidelity—with compression ratios ranging from 4× to 10× depending on content and configuration.

With two 16-channel gateways operating at 10× compression, the system now supports 10 concurrent HD video streams over the same bandwidth previously used for just one. This enables the train control center to access multiple real-time video feeds simultaneously without increasing bandwidth usage.

The product is currently deployed across industries such as transportation, public security, justice, energy, emergency management, power, and finance, with multiple successful implementation cases. Feel free to contact us for more information.
